Since April 2015 Vasu has been working with the Project Management office (PMO) of Amplify Insight Consulting, (http://www.amplify.com/services/consulting) focused on Advisory Services and Technology Solutions for innovation in education.
From February 2006 to August 2014 Vasu managed New Product Realization efforts at Educational Testing Service, (https://www.ets.org/) focused on product commercialization, Vasu was responsible for every aspect of the product’s success, from short term execution to long term strategic planning with relentless focus on customer experience.
Prior to joining ETS, Vasu held Product Management positions at Raritan Computer, VPISystems, Lucent Technologies, and Bell Communication Research launching/managing high tech products. From 1985 to 1995, Vasu worked in Ship Design, New Construction and Maintenance.
Vasu Founded WISHOF.org in May 2011 inspired by the tremendous potential of children and their ability to make a positive impact in the fast changing world. The foundation has piloted a few initiatives since then and developed a scalable model that can be introduced in a more formal setting like a school. This model will be rolled out in the 2015-2016 school year.
Since November 2011 Vasu has been a Member, Board of Directors of “The STEM Academy” (http://learn.stem101.org/) a global leader focused on blended STEM education for K-16 schools and education providers.
Vasu is a registered Yoga teacher and has been teaching beginner’s level Integral Yoga to both adults and children since 2005.
Vasu has a Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture & Shipbuilding from University of Cochin, Master’s degrees in Ocean Engineering from Florida Atlantic University and Business Administration from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business, USA. Vasu holds a Project Management Professional Certification from the Project Management Institute since December 2005.
Usha has over twenty years’ experience in the field of education, particularly in pre-service and in-service teacher training, examining international English tests, and writing on education and leadership development. Based now in India and working pre-dominantly with British Council centers, she has had stints with British Council in South Africa, sub-Saharan countries, Malaysia, and International House Sydney, Australia.
Since August 2002, Usha has been a teacher educator and examiner trainer, working for the University of Cambridge English tests and the Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA), at the British Council Centers in India. In addition to examining for Cambridge English, she is a team leader for the International Baccalaureate Organization’s (IBO Geneva) High School Diploma, English Language and Literature examination. Usha was instrumental in introducing and establishing the highly successful international pre-service course, CELTA, in India in 2004. Being a Cambridge CELTA assessor, she assesses courses regularly in other countries, including the USA.
Usha has designed and delivered management skills and business English training in major multinational companies, international banks and management Institutes in Malaysia & India and was a faculty member of the Leadership Development Program for MBA students at the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad from 2004 – 2010
Usha has presented research papers at international conferences and is a published author of articles on management topics, and language teacher education.
Usha has a Master’s degree in education through course work and research, (M.Ed. TESOL) from the University of Manchester, UK; a Master’s and Bachelor’s in English language and Literature (M.A & B.A) from the University of Kerala, India, and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Higher Education from the University of Bombay, India. She is also a registered online teacher trainer and tutor of English.
Vaidhy Murti is a recent graduate of Princeton University, where he majored in Computer Science. He is active in sports and both plays and coaches Cricket, Tennis and Basketball. Vaidhy designed the www.wishof.org website and has continued to nurture and support the growth of this foundation.
Aside from Wishof, Vaidhy works avidly on his startup Friendsy, a college-based social network aimed at fostering connections between students. Friendsy recently raised a round of Seed funding from Lerer Hippeau Ventures, and Vaidhy will continue working on Friendsy full-time in New York this fall.
